Text Box: ABOUT MARTHA: Martha is a singer/songwriter who has been writing music for almost 20 years. Born in southern California, she graduated from high school and college in Arkansas. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and music from Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, and moved to the Midwest to begin work in journalism.       Martha has worked as a managing editor, editor, photographer, staff writer, staff correspondent and layout designer for a number of publications. She has also been a featured soloist at many different venues, from churches to coffeehouses. Martha was a freelance writer and photographer for about 10 years. She had been a weekly "Faith" columnist for the Herald Bulletin in Anderson for three years. In 2001, she launched her own magazine, Life in the Midwest. It's a lifestyles magazine that circulates in central Indiana. For more information, click here.  In 2006, Martha graduated from Ball State University in Muncie with a master's degree in counseling. She now works for Centerstone of Indiana, a mental health center, as a therapist. She recorded her first CD, "Connect the Hearts," in 2000. Her second CD, “Songs of Comfort,” is a CD of songs for grief and loss. Her third CD, released in 2008, is “I’m Blooming!” This is a collection of original and cover songs that are all about personal growth and authenticity, as well as songs about healing.
